Hi Eric It's been awhile since I've been on. I'm trying to retrieve a pic from previously posted picture in my gallery. When I click my Greg Taggart, upper right of the page I get to someone else named "f". Or ifif I click on my f#dead link in one of my old adds, same thing I get to "f". I would like to get to my pics. Can you help? Please advise and thank you for your time and consideration. GT
What browser and operating system are you using?
I just tested the link to your profile on your post with Firefox, Chrome, and Edge, and for me the link works properly and directs me to your profile page.
Here is the issue. Your username has a "#" in it, so your browser reads anything after the # as a something referred to as a "fragment identifier". So it's sending you to a user profile that's just 'F', because the fragment identifier is meaningless and the rest gets dropped from the link.
What you need to do, is replace the '#' with a '%23' in the URL. https://www.banjohangout.org/my/f%23dead should lead you to the correct profile page. However, if you replace the '%23' with '#', it leads you to the other profile page.
This is a direct link to your photo album: https://www.banjohangout.org/myhangout/photos.asp?id=27941
This issue is why there are typically character restrictions on usernames. Certain characters are interpreted by software as operators rather than strings, which can cause all sorts of weird behavior. There's ways to 'clean' the inputs, but typically the developer will just restrict the character options to avoid the issue.
