The subject was "Check In" and the text was:

Strange. Wonder if his account got hacked. Anyone else get something similar?

I got one, too. just out of curiosity, I replied, and got back this stock stupid bottom-feeder scam:

This method is neither graceful! or fast!, and the stores around here are out of stock and i tried purchasing online but unfortunately no luck with that. Can you get it from any store around you? Have you notified BNL that their e-mail account has been hacked? If not, please do and if you don't want to, let me know and I'll tell them so they can change their password and stop the hacking.
Edited to add: I emailed BNL with an URL to this thread so he can take care of the problem.

I contacted Donald as I too received one around noon today and got the same spiel with it. He replied and said the email had been hacked and was getting it straightened out.

Not that it will do any good but I went in this morning and changed my logon password at banjo newsletter.

I also received an e-mail that he had changed his password and hopefully taken care of the problem.
EVERYBODY ( except for that guy making rectangular banjos in Wisconsin) is running a scam.
I got this also. Is there any way we can report it and stop whoever’s doing it?

Donald has changed his password, so that should take care of getting spam from his e-mail. Other than that, I doubt you can stop spammers from hacking into other people's e-mails.
