Greetings to All.....

Does the new ad for the Huber VRB-4 look legitimate?

Any thoughts?

$2500 is a great price!

Price that is too good to be true?? Seller's only post? No pictures to speak of? Could be legit, but the red flags are waving IMO

Also, the pic is from an old banjobuyer ad from a banjo sold in Utah in 2017

Yeah, I saw that too. WAY too good of a price, plus a complete lack of decent photos. I could be wrong, but the signs of it being non-legit are too prominent.

Scam i thought the VRB 4 was Walnut not Mahogany.

Serena Zubel was listed on an older ad for a 1949 TB 150 on banjobuyer, from Augusta Maine.

Googling Serena Zubel shows a similar photo to this person's FB profile photo, and lists her as living in England, not Maine. FB page has one friend and the last post was 2021.

I'll check with my contacts in the Bluegrass Music Assoc of Maine.

Another warning sign. I just got an email reply to my email to "Serena Zubel" asking if I could visit to see the banjo. The reply is from "Carine Balla" and tells me "It would be nice to see if the banjo is still available at the time of coming." whatever THAT means!

Also unknown to the ex-President of the BMAM.

"Just sold" shows someone bought this! Let's see if it arrives to the buyer.
