Not contradictory per se, but so far I haven't figured out just what went on in In The Gravel Yard. a) "I killed a man that I caught with my wife,.... " and "... the one who done me wrong, she's lying in the cold, cold ground."
Did the dude kill two people or did his wife die of other causes?
[Inquiring minds want to know. ]
Something that's always bugged me: Neil Young needed a grammar lesson. In "Ohio" he writes:
"Gotta get down to it.
Soldiers are cutting us down.
Shoulda been done long ago."
Of course he means we "shoulda got down to it" long ago, but it seems he's saying (implying? inferring?) that the soldiers should have cut us down long ago.
I wonder if anyone has ever dared tell him this?
