Good dark and ?early morning from windy Kingston, Ontario. Environment Canada says the wind warning has ended, but it's howling outside right now. It was unseasonably warm yesterday, but it's 2C now and will only be -2C later. The wind puts me in mind of the painting "Wild Turkeys" by Carl Henry Von Ahrens.

Eighty years ago today Japanese naval air forces attacked the United States fleet anchored at Pearl Harbor, bringing the USA into WWII, eventually turning the tide of the war. We remember the lives lost that day.

Have a great day!

G’mornin’ to you all. It’ll be a bit milder today, up to 35*Fare’n’height,, _^ Celsigrade, with mostly sunny skies.
Pic for today is the Sweet Grass Hills that hug the Alberta/Montana border, taken a couple of Februarys ago.

Have a terrific Tuesday everyone

This is the bandstand on “The Park” in Andover. This one gets a fair amount of use. A quartet including banjo, trumpet, tuba and clarinet perform at many fairs and my son performed there several times with the high school jazz band.

The stairs in the coloring book drawing were deemed to steep for safety and were replaced by the ones in the photo

Good Morning from cold (0f) and overcast North Woods. I got lazy yesterday and did not clear out the drifts in the driveway to better do that today as She has to go to town. Wind has laid down so at least it will not drift in later.

Good morning from chilly 30F upstate NY w/ blue skies right now & maybe some lake effect snow later .
Some where I have a pic of our US eng work group in Gunma Japan at the Sanyo Corp along w/ their tech group standing out side their building on Dec 7th 1998 which was one of the former Mitsubishi plants that built the Zeros . Some of the grass runways were still intact . We purchased a very complex turret style chip shooter from them to compliment our line of component placement machines for which I was the US liaison eng .

I thought it best to wait, see what we get. -7C/-10C wind-chill, o/c in S wind, snow flurries.
Ceiling maybe 3,000'. Chopper came through earlier on IFR ("I Follow Road").
Hour now and he's back. Maybe the McBride airport is where they gas up?

The heliski companies have their lodges all ready to go, expecting a good season.

Bills' photo of the bandstand on his post reminded me of the one in my hometown. Kingston.

The Murney tower there was built for the war of 1812. I've seen kids climb down in the moat & climb back out if there was some weeds growing on the wall in the right places. If not they had to wait for the fire dept. to get them out!

Every kid must have have had their picture taken sitting on that lion. The paint on it's back was worn off. I know I did but I wish I had one!

We used to swim & fish down there. Walking or biking . The street I lived on went straight down to this park.
