What tuning did Roscoe Holcomb use for his version of Darling Corey?

Shelton's recorded version is in eCGCC. Not sure that Roscoe Holcomb was tuned there though?

Mike, he played it in f#DGAD, maybe up or down a half step/step depending on the recording.

For what it is worth I find it plays well in gCGCE. That third floating out on that first string makes for some cool overtones.

Thank you RG and Bob!

I teach a student who really wants to learn Darling Corey as it’s a personal favourite of his. He’s also at a point where we’re going to look at up-picking. Maybe not one for his first up-picking tune, but if I can figure out a simplified version of Roscoe Holcomb’s 2-finger thumb lead hopefully in the near future we can kill two birds with one stone.
