2 weeks ago I was putting away my summer tools and while placing my scythe in the corner caught the handle on a tool box which made the scythe pivot on my gripping hand and drove the blade into the little finger edge of my left palm.
Big towel wrap and dusted it for the Pen-Bay ER where I received fine care and 6 stitches.
Told I was lucky not to have severed a tendon.
A few days after stitches out and everything's working good and drying up with no bad surprises.Banjo and guitar playing unaffected.Going back to work tomorrow on bridge carving.

Nothing like a close call to make one thankful for every normal moment.

Glad it ended as good as it did. Could have easily had a much worse outcome.

Quite a few yrs ago when I was into radio control planes I made arrangements to buy a 4 meter glider way out on the end of Long Island . I knew the guy was a long time carpenter & as well into RC .
Just before I was ready to leave on the trip his wife called & said he had severed 3 fingers off a hand w/ his table saw & was in the hospital . In conversing w/ him , he told her to do the transaction w/ me anyway which we did . (pic of the glider)
So , although I'm careful , since then , I try to be a LOT MORE careful !

In this digital age, it is good to hear you didn't lose one.
Rock on, Steve, and Please try to be more careful next time.
I have my troubles with balance and physical stability after busy yard projects too.

Steve: ".... I was putting away my summer tools and.... ."

Tongue -in-cheek, see what happens when you don't leave stuff easily accessible for the next time you need it??  I trust you'll know better in the future!!  cheeky

Glad you're on the mend and will end up none the worse for wear.

I've helped a few ladies move & noticed boxes marked .. Spring clothes. Fall clothes. Us guys just wear all our clothes in the winter!

Good to know you're on the mend with no complications.

A little while ago I gave a banjo lesson to a guy who had an accident that severed his left arm at the elbow. It's reattached, but has an ugly scar and a bit of a different angle now.
