I made up some more of these in time for gift giving. Once these are gone I won't make any more until it gets warmer in my shop.

This is a design I came up with in 2014 when I was doing a lot of traveling for my job. I needed a mute that worked-- and was not clamped to the bridge.

I wanted something simple and nonmetallic as I was carrying on my banjo and the less weird metal stuff the better.

I only made a few of these as there were already plenty of mutes on the market. I gave a couple away and it turns out people really like them.

They will fit pretty much any banjo with a dowel rod or double coordinator rods. Since they are made of wood they won't scratch anything.

It can also be used as a tone regulator.

Send me a message if you are interested. I take PayPal, check, or if you want to stop by my day job in Pepperell, MA I'll take cash.

Joel, Saw your offer on the Hangout and noticed you work in Pepperell, MA. I recently moved to Groton and recently began playing banjo. I am looking for a slow jam that is close to Groton (under an hour would be nice!). Can you point me in any direction to make this happen?

Thanks,
Andre Albert

Sorry Andre, I am afraid I am not a part of that old time jam world but I know there is plenty of it around.  You might try to reach out to Jim Bollman.  I also have a friend in Groton who plays old time banjo that I could pass your info to if you would like.

One thing to put on your calender is the Lowell Fiddle Contest.  In years past they have had workshops and old time jams for various skill levels.

If you want to get together and learn about nylon strings, antique banjos, "classic banjo" or early "stroke style" I'm your guy.

Thanks Joel! I haven’t been able to find much in the area so I probably need to dig a bit deeper. If your friend knows of anything that would be helpful.

Thanks again!
