We are still using our old “Yahoo” email system. We have pc’s and iPhones.
I keep a variety of email folders for emails I want to save. Wife does not. I keep my inbox to under 100 emails, hopefully much less.
I asked my wife how many emails are in her inbox, knowing her habits. She thought she had about 200,000 emails-in her inbox!
How do I get her to remedy that? Or do I bother?

It's her e-mail, why do you want her to change it? if she's happy with a full box, what's the harm?

Caveat: NEVER try to change your spouse unless he or she agrees to the change.

Yep, leave well enough alone.  Happy wife, happy life... if it ain't broke, don't fix it....an all that rot. wink

  [Just my opinion, of course.]

Today's luddite question.... how does one know the capacity of his/her email/gmail inbox, and when it might be approaching "full"?

Brad, history tells us that women with a full email inbox tend to live longer than men who bug them about it.

S.O. used AOL for email & had, probably,  every email from day one, filed neatly away in appropriate folders. I used to question storing all that on her PC. Later figured out AOL was simply web mail, & rather than downloading mail to your device, it stays on their server until deleted. It worked for her.

Remedy what ? I delete the junk and keep the rest. A decent email client (and I'm dinosaur who still uses Outlook) will help. I don't even bother much with folders as the sort and search functions make it pretty easy to find what you want.

If she wants to clean up her Inbox she can sort the emails by sender and then select and delete big chunks of email at a time. That's what I do and need to do.

But, yes it’s her woman’s right to choice, unless it affects our shared computer? Like slowing down start ups and other functions.
And, it drives me batty to watch her endless searches for old emails.
And. I hump it to make her a nice cocktail, only to watch the ice melt away while she searches for an old email. I get no respect. She takes me for granted? Brad ;-)

Doesn't that mean she has reasons to keep those old emails ? I haven't got a clue how big my wife's inbox is. Some things should remain a mystery in a marriage.

I was trying to be helpful. But I had the about same response with photo management.
But then again…the computer is in my dressing area. It is set to go to a background or screen saver after 10 minutes of non use , so it goes to a slide show of all our photos. I never know batch of pics I will see when I dress.
