The neck on that Paragon looks to have been refinished.

I believe the main value in these is to convert to tenor banjos.

Eagle Music have a Paragon tenor as a commission sale for someone currently priced at £4500.

Exactly.  Plectrums and 5 Strings not so much.

Maybe someday the tenors in the US will be appreciated again, and values will go up to the point where people stop buying them for 5 string conversions. All y'all 5 string players/builders really can build a better banjo than they did 100 years ago. I know my comment will change absolutely nothing, but maybe one tenor player will come along and give it a "like", lol.
