I had little hope Michigan would win that game. Especially since Michigan seemed to specialize in collapsing during the second half of games. There were only ahead by 1 point at halftime.
Just like Utah, Michigan seemed to be more determined to win. Lots of fancier words were said, but that is what they amounted to. I don't think the blame can be placed on any Ohio State player. Just about every time Michigan needed something, they were able to produce it.

Here I am on a soapbox again. How in the "you know where" can a committee do a good job of picking 4 teams to play for the NCAA championship. College football abounds with teams with similiar or identical records. I think there should be 3 games and 8 teams picked. This solution is not perfect, but would give some teams a "once in a lifetime" chance at a national championship.
These schools cannot compete with the Ohio State, Alabama, etc. programs in recruiting. But they might have a single outstanding season and deserve a chance at fame.

I was so hoping Auburn would some how pull a win out of that Iron Bowl game but not to be. It would have really put a turd in the punch bowl. Let all conference champs play in the playoffs just like the pros last man standing gets the crown.

i think they should allow the champions from the 10 FBS conferences to be able to play in the championship tournament

Dick ...... I thought Michigan would be able to compete for two or three quarters. It did not expect them to win.  I'm not an OSU or Michigan fan, but have to admit that I was delighted  that the Wolverines won.

I am not in favor of an 8, 10, or 12 team playoff.  They already play enough games and the more teams involved, the more games they will have to play. I contend that the objective of the CFP is to determine the best team in college football ....... not the best eight.  In the 4 team playoff it is really important that the best two teams are selected because they are going to be the two that probably wind up playing for the championship.  Honestly I don't care who is the 5th - 8th best teams.  Granted this year it is a little more difficult to determine teams 2 - 4, but I am betting that the committee will at least be able to make sure the second best team is among them.  Georgia, in my opinion, is the best team this year, but this may be a year where that could be proved wrong.

I will admit that this year has softened my position on the four versus eight scenario ...... not convinced yet, but closer!

I think the Auburn game will turn out to be meaningless, as next week determines their fate. If Georgia beats Bama in the SEC championship game then the Tide will not be in the playoffs. If Bama manages to somehow beat Georgia, then they will deserve to be in the playoffs.

Lifelong Buckeye. Yesterday was a massive choke and I think exposed Ryan Day for underestimating what they were in for. They were completely unprepared and looked like it was their first time playing in a big game. I am still mad....

I'm sure there's a lot of guys calling in the radio shows wanting Day's head today. (part of the reason a lot of locals hate the Buckeyes) I do think he's the right coach but this was a lesson he needed to finally learn. We will be back.

Anthony .... I am not a fan of Ryan Day, but I think he is a good coach .... particularly on the offensive side of the ball.  OSU has a terrific QB (passed for a bunch of yards yesterday) and will be in the Heisman discussion, maybe this year, and certainly in the following years, unless he does a "Spencer Rattler".  At my Alma Mater, we have found out that great receivers (which OSU has) can really make QBs look good, so that helps.  It is ridiculous to call for Day's head or any other coaches on the staff.  Sometimes you just have to give credit to the other team!

Fans here are a bit nuts, always have been.  They did the same thing to Woody.  I do like Ryan Day I just know that he's inexperienced and has cruised so far in his short head coaching career.  He was in over his head yesterday but he will take lesson and get better.

That being said, CJ Stroud does NOT belong in the Heisman conversation.  Maybe next year.  He's athletic, talented yes.  Also afraid to get hit, won't use his legs.  And he also choked big time when it counted.  Heismans go to a winners and he didn't win.

Warning: Thread Drift;

Somewhere right now Coach O of LSU has a smirk on his face and rightfully so. The hoopla of Lincoln Riley becoming the next man up in Baton Rouge has been extinguished. Riley is headed for USC which I don’t blame him not one bit.

They can't.

I wouldn't be surprised if some members are lobbying for Ohio State, because they can't envision playoffs without them.
