So I finally unprocrastinated. Check the link above. It’s a great banjo with good volume and a very full sound. I just need to sell a few banjos, and this is among my best. Post any questions you have so I can answer them here. Thanks for your consideration

Bill,

Can you explain what a vintage tone ring is, please?

Thanks.

I’ll try. That’s Ome’s term. Their description is here: https://www.omebanjos.com/details/rims-tone-rings/

It's a heavy, flat rolled-brass ring combined with a beveled-top shell. The volume and tone from this seemingly simple construction is remarkable.

Another question, Bill. Do the bracket nuts extend below the bottom of the pot?

Thanks.

No. On a flat surface the pot rests on the rim.

Bill,
Is the bridge a radius type? I don't know much about the technical specs of radius fretboard per se. But the curvature can be various arc lengths. Is the nut radius'd as well?

Yeah; radiused bridge. Hard to tell on the nut, but that depends on slot depths, as does the bridge for that matter. If the depth of the slots conforms to the neck radius, it does not matter whether the top of the nut or bridge is radiused. By the same token, slot depths can be in a straight line, no matter the top radius.

Hi Bill

Could you post a REcording of banjo? Sounds like a beautiful OME banjo but i am not sure the rolled brass TR is the sound I am looking for. Unfortunately I do not have shops / dealers here to hear the Mira, i have heard other ONEs and like them.

Thank you

I am no longer set up to do decent recordings, but here's an accurate YouTube demo of a maple Mira, which is what I have.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AocfCBnYods

With tax trauma day about to pass, I’m reactivating the listing. Post questions here or send a private message. Thanks!

I’ll give it another week or so….the openback market seems rather soft right now.
