Good dark and early morning (almost) from damp Kingston, Ontario. It's 6C now and will hit just 9C later, with still more wet stuff falling from the sky. A furnace guy is coming to try to sell us a new furnace. At least we'll get a better idea of our situation and potential costs. Later in the afternoon I'm off to town to pull cyclists over and inform them of the legal lighting requirements and even give out some lights to those who need them, on behalf of Cycle Kingston.

I forgot to include this on Sunday's post: on that date in '68 Jesse Winchester, Sonny Terry & Brownie McGhee, and John Mayall's Bluesbreakers played the McGill University Student Union ballroom. In Mayall's band was Mick Taylor, who several months later joined the Rolling Stones. Some of us were with him onstage when, replying to a question about where he got his Les Paul, he said, "I bought it off Keith Richard."

Have a great day!

Have a terrific Tuesday everyone.

The tracks of the former Boston and Maine Railroad run through my hometown. The B&M operated from 1836 until 1983. The tracks are now operated by Pan Am Railways. The tracks carry freight traffic, Massachusetts Commuter Rail and Amtrak Nor Easter service.

There are several stone arch bridges in town. The railroad looked into replace them due to increased traffic but determined they were in perfect shape and more than up to the job. Not bad for nearly two century old construction.

There used to be a dance hall in the woods near this bridge. Visitors arrive by canoe, ferry boat and rail. The B&M had a siding for passenger to the hall. The hall closed after a double murder occurred there

G’mornin’, everybody. A fine day considering we’re nearing November.

Good Morning from clear and cool Northeast Wisconsin. Not much to say today, got an early morning Dr. Appt for a shot in the knee. Hope it works and delays knee replacement.
Have a great day, keep warm and safe.

Good morning from Southeastern Pennsylvania! We just had a lot of rain overnight, and lost power, but that was fun.

Have a nice day everyone!

Good morning from NE Ohio. Cool and clear. Nice and cozy inside by the fire. Wait a minute, I don't have a fireplace! I guess I better call the fire Department. Ha, ha.
Have a great day everyone.

The temperature has dropped 20 degrees in the last hour as a cold front moves into western Colorado. Winds are at 28mph blowing the remainder of the leaves on our elm tree to the ground. Rain (which is always welcome here) is in the forecast.

It's a good day to stay hunkered down with my bride.

Yesterday's Jeep excursion resulted in a close encounter with some Big Horn Sheep ...

When I was small (toddler to grade one) we vacationed in Old Orchard Beach, Maine. The B&O would roll through town. I recall being close to the tracks when one train passed by. I remembered the maroon and yellow diesels.

On a better subject , I sold my 31 Ford coupe & replaced it with a 55 Chev Belair .
A bit more practical & my wife can drive it .

Bob, so sorry she’s got that. Maybe you know this, but I quit eating the nightshade plants - potatoes, tomatoes, bell peppers, egg plant. It helped my arthritis , as did turmeric. All the best.
