I'm in Escondido for a week, and seem to remember a nice shop in perhaps Carlsbad that had several banjos. I can't remember the name or exact location. Can any BHO members clue me in? Or any other banjo-rich shops in the San Diego general area? I've already been to Deering and it is a mecca. ;-)

Thanks!

You might be thinking about Buffalo Brothers. Sadly, it closed several years ago.

Yup, it was Buffalo Bros.  Thanks for the reminder!

Buffalo Brothers had a big chicken on the roof. It was between home and family in San Diego whom I visited many times over the years. I often returned home with something really nice that maybe I shouldn't have bought.

Hi Chris: Yes, Buffalo Bros closed and now there are few banjo specific shops in the SD area. There is still Moonlight Music in Encinitas and Giacoletti Music Center in Oceanside. Are you looking for anything specific? DAVE

Not looking for anything specifically. It's just nice to be able to visit a great music store and play an instrument or two to narrow down what I'm looking for in my next banjo.
