$3.14 for regular, $3.04 for diesel. Pretty standard winter pricing.

Isn't 'Litre' a French word for 'fancy quart' - a quart with a few chugs more in it?

Our speed limit on the Hwy is 110 km/hr.
It’s 8 degrees Celsius out right now, up here in the furrin land.
(if confoosed, I refer you to Paul R from Kingston, Ontario ,,, no, not the California Ontario….)

4 liters in the SI metric system is approximately 1 x 128 oz American gallon.

The Imperial gallon is 4 x 40 oz quarts, 160 ounces and that's almost exactly 4.5 liters.
Regular gas around here has been running as high as $1.57/liter ($7.07/imperial gallon).

An American gallon is 128/160 of that = $5.65.
Don't forget how we get screwed over by the economy, our dollar is about $0.72 USD.
So the hypothetical American pump price is about $4.07 USD/American gallon.

Thick as mud but it covers the ground. I loaded 115 liters into the Burb a couple of days ago, about $180.00 I suppose.

Nope ... while Canadians use the right units for liquid measure, they have funny notions of what a dollar is. $4.09/gallon US.

CA pollution regs mean higher prices. Last week around here regular ranged (that I saw) from $3.90 to $4.39 per gallon. Could have been some higher. One isolated station on the coast highway (CA 1) was around $8.00.

When my tank says 50 miles to go I put in $32 to fill for a 410 mile range.

We have similar things in AZ. Summertime we get a special blend to reduce fuel evaporation in 120F heat, and our prices tend to go up vs the winter when we use the same blend as New Mexico, Nevada, and Colorado.

I pretty much pay for my Costco membership each year with what I save buying gas there with my affiliated credit card. Lower pump price plus four-percent rebate.

My college car was a 1955 Chrysler station wagon--pretty close to being a tank. It had a Borg-Warner M-3 auto tranny--same one as the WW2 Sherman tank. No matter how I abused it, it just kept going. But...8 mpg in winter.
