Does anyone know of a source for a ten inch tension hoop? Or am I going to have to attempt to make one?
Or does anyone have one they would sell?
Not sure this will help, but I know Zach Hoyt makes brass tension hoops in what he refers to as the Van Eps style. You might check with him about other possibilities if that material/style wouldn’t suit. (I think I remember Glen Carson’s mentioning that Zach made a hoop for him, but it may have been as above too.) Sorry I can’t be of more and better assistance.

Pretty sure Rickard used to advertise 10" hoops. Maybe they can still make you one.
A tension hoop is not the hardest thing to make. The Harbor Freight Ring Roller will do the job. I have made them out of brass, aluminum and cold rolled steel.
Difficulty is based on how pretty you want it, notched?, welded, brazed, silver soldered or bolted together.
Most of mine have been on banjo ukes and hooks just hooked over the top of the hoop.
1/2" x1/8" cold rolled steel was easy because the piece I bought in the hardware store was rounded on one edge and I weld better than I solder and just painted it black.
1/2" x 1/8" aluminum is easy to bend, light, bolted the ends together with a little bracket hidden under the tailpiece. See attached pic.
I'll second Samuel's reply. I contacted Zach in the summer regarding having him make two 10 3/4" tension hoops for a couple rims I was resurrecting. I asked if he could make them with an inner bevel/notch so the hooks could catch over the edge. They worked great, even with one of the rims being a bit out of round and a hair over 10 3/4".
