Okay, this is kind of gross, but I'm sure all you fisher folks can handle it.

Not for everyone's pie hole indeed , but how many people attach pieces of decoration into their body including their tongue & think it's cool & attractive ?

Somehow, it seems worse when the being doesn't have a choice in the matter, which is why it saddens me when people get their infants pierced.

To me it is a bit unsettling to see the societal mandates cosmetology control has on many females who need no plasticing as they are already beautiful but they know no better than to pay their dues to the mega rich cosmetic industry .
@ 82 , I still enjoy beautiful women but not so much some of todays overly gawdy painted varietys .

I agree w/ u on the piercing of newborns .

So, what did I miss?

As for piercings on children:
A local mall kiosk made the news when a 17 year old went there to get ear piercings for herself and her 1-year old daughter.
The piercer employee said he could NOT do the MOM, because she was under 18, not without a parent there to give consent.
BUT he could do the kid, because she had HER mother's permission.

Clear evidence that those who write laws forget to engage their brains first.

I had a High School student who was 20 years old, and had his own apartment, but the school required a parent's signature on all forms.  I wonder what's going to happen when they extend public school from K-12 to K-14 (which will actually be pre-K-14)

When I went back to college in my 30's the school came up with a "brilliant" idea to have us all sign pledge contracts, and if we did not live up to our side of the one sided contract they would call our parents.  A decent portion of the student body was over 30, many with families and children of their own.  Virtually everyone in college is a legal adult.  It's ironic that unless a student agrees, the parents cannot see their grades, but the college will call the parents if the student cuts a class.  Forest Gump had it right.  Stupid is as stupid does.
