I would appreciate reading users opinions about the "Opera" browser. The good and the bad.
I am using Windows 10 and Google Chrome. I don't use Microsoft products until they have been available for a while. When I worked with computers we joked about software being on the "leading edge", but for users it was the "bleeding edge". That happens when software is not adequately tested. I worked a long time as a computer systems programmer, and many programmers think that each programming error will be their last. And supporting documentation seems to written for someone who will never have any questions.

For about two weeks I have been trying to find out why computers attempting to download to my system are getting "Virus Scan Failed" messages. I have restored default values, removed my security software, and checked internet messsages about this problem. Unfortunately most of the suggestions are either out-of-date or difficult to use. I cannot understand why the identitiy of the application that printed the error message was not included with the error message. I still have not yet determined if the problem is caused by Chrome or Microsoft security software. Knowing which application printed the error message would be easy to provide and a lot of help when this problem occurs.

Thanks in advance for any feedback -

FWIW, I use Opera exclusively on my home desktop, and android phone. No issues, but from your description you are maybe attempting things I haven't. I download things frequently and use Bitdefender anti-virus. With Opera, the ad blocker is on by default, and sometimes you have to turn it off for specific sites.
