I own a NAA .22 Mag. Pug and subscribed to "Sandy's Soapbox" for a couple of years. Never knew him to stray much from talking about the firearms business. I just checked in to see what you were talking about and all I find is an apology. The offending blog post seems to have vanished. But the apology makes it clear that he stepped in it, big time!
But I don't think that it will affect his business much, as they are a niche product and if you want one of those mini revolvers they are the only game in town. I will admit that I find it handy to have a gun that can be concealed while----In Your Hand. Nothing else like it, and has real utility as long as you do not fool yourself about what it can and cannot do.

I've got an LR model, and a black powder model (never shot that one, more for novelty). banjo bill-e is on the money. I see it as a get-off-me gun. Best used to clear out ear wax. I had plans to buy the short model they offer as a limited run each year, but not now. After showing his colors in that rant, I'll not purchase another NAA firearm again. Niche market or not. Their offering isn't a necessity.

The dude is clearly not very smart. Why would you alienate people who probably support your business by some of the insensitive things he said. I am guessing that he really meant them if he said them, so an apology does not mean a lot to me. I take him at his word that he said what he meant, so I think his apology is strictly for business reasons.

I don't think "strictly". He apologized for the language he used, which he admits was a bit over the top (of course, we can't see that now, so ...). He states (restates?) his opinion (which is perfectly reasonable to me) and adds that he has tried to be respectful of opinions in the past. Sure, the reactions had their effect on him, but at least part of that effect was a realization that he overstepped the bounds he normally places on himself.

We've seen enough responses here on BHO that make us think some people should pause before they hit "post reply". And there have been members who have deleted responses before hitting that button. This guy needed to take a break before posring his original comment.

This is not discussing Voldemort. I am posting the link to the offending post from the owner since some don't know what was said. This is purely for informational purposes and no discussion of Voldemort should follow.

It was intemperate and ill-considered. It's cost him customers. He's shot himself in the foot (not difficult with a gun small enough to lose in a pocket).

But I completely agree with him.

I see nothing wrong with that little derringer. I carry a similar one in my purse (and I have a concealed carry permit). I sincerely hope I never have to use it, but if accosted by someone wanting to hurt me, I think I would take appropriate action.

I am not sure there is a difference between calling some one "stupid" and "not so smart", as you are basically saying the same thing, so his apology for his "language" is just little bit hollow.

I agree that we have all said things before that we wished we hadn't and probably should have reflected on them before posting, so I understand that part.  As strictly a business decision what he said was completely dumb ..... even if you agree with what he said.

.... looks like the dude should have consulted this little bathroom reader style (?) book: https://www.thriftbooks.com/w/dont-dig-for-water-under-the-outhouse-and-other-cowboy-commandments_texas-bix-bender/897717/item/1540283/?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIiIrvjZfZ8wIVp2xvBB3PYQMxEAQYAyABEgJYqPD_BwE#idiq=1540283&edition=5481275 which provides this nugget:  "Never miss a good chance to shut up."

...anyway, everybody can relax; his message is yesterday's news.... this past spring MB's fearless leader called a lot of Manitobans "selfish, irresponsible idiots."  And today?  Manitoba continues to stumble on, while he's now collecting a [generous] pension.   I guess "we" sure showed him that "he who laughs last laughs best." wink

That’s the great thing about freedom of speech, you can say what you think, where that gets you after that, you should have thunk about before you opened yer mouth, sometimes good results, sometimes bad, but you always have to live with the results of your words.
Freedom of speech doesn’t give you freedom of no backlash of your speech.
An apology after is just trying to save what he can

For sure. Right now I'm dealing with the actions of people in a certain organization, one in particular, and am very frustrated with decisions made after I've done the work, and am trying to keep my mouth shut. Once the words are out, that's it. You can't put the toothpaste back into the tube.
