Headed down to Mary's for the weekend.
Too cold for the motor scooter, so I took the keys out of my pocket, and set them THERE, so they'd be right THERE to put back in my pocket when I got home.

When I got home, they weren't THERE!

Nor in the two other most obvious places, nor in the pockets of any of the pants or shirts I'd been wearing, nor in the laundry.

So I wonder- - - which THERE was the THERE where I put them, when I put them THERE?

I have a spare IGNITION key, but I'll have to power saw off the KRYPTONITE wheel lock.

Even with my trusty SAWZALL and a special HARD METALS blade, it's going to be a job.

Hold off with that sawzall for a day or two, as you just might wake up in the middle of the night saying "oh yeah, THAT is where I put them". Or at least, that is what happens to me from time to time.

Did you check the scooter?  One of the "there's" might be the ignition switch. The other one might be the wheel lock.

Gremlins have borrowed them, and I believe I know the magic incantation that calls them forth: "I can remember where I am putting this."

If you walk into a room & wonder Why am I here?  Go to where you had the original thought & it will come back to you.

Mike, your keys are not there, or THERE, or even THERE. They're over there.

Checked the ignition, the seat/lid lock, the wheel lock.
Checked the place I usually put them, and the floor around that spot, and the place where I hang the other keys for other stuff.

Since I tried to DRILL OUT the wheel lock ( no luck), I'll HAVE to saw the dang thing off.
OR freeze it with liquid nitrogen ( of which I have none) and shatter it with a hammer.

Actually, they're probably over there, but you can't see them because they're under that.

As they say, "Been there, and got the t-shirt."

What clothes, exactly were you last wearing when you had the keys?

I got lazy.
Put my house and post office keys in my shirt pocket.
Not my usual right front breast jacket pocket but a shirt pocket.
So much for checking the mail.
Burn the house down and sift through the ashes.

Almost by accident, picked that shirt off the rack and heard the keys jingle.
I do not recall the last time I wore that shirt and out of the house, besides.

The Steady 45s do a very nice rocksteady version. I was in the audience during this show. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9QHTdH-Tn6E

And once you figure out where THERE is, you can try to find out who THEY are!

Check the couch and your favorite chair. Maybe they were in your pocket and slipped out and under a cushion. Wait a couple of days and see if they don't suddenly appear..... right where you put them in the first place.

This getting old isn't near as much fun as we were told, but it does get us a lot of exercise looking for stuff we lost (G).

My wife lost her our vehicle keys and house keys on June 5th. Tore every thing apart looking for them. $200 later we got all the keys replaced. Still have not found them . Gave up after 2 months.
Good luck , know what you are going thru.

You guys believe me now ??
It’s the time builders the guys that build time ahead of us.Before we walk into a room they build the scene from our recent visit to that same room. Sometimes they don’t get it right by not putting everything back exactly like it was when we walked out the last time we were in that room. So my suggestion is to go to the place you think you saw your keys last Mike and say with a nice but firm voice that you would like to have your keys back and then go about your business. I have tried this when I’m missing something it works sometimes. Or I could be losing my mind and using this as an excuse??

It's the time of year when those skimpy summer jackets go into the closet for a 7 month rest. Check anything you wear that has pockets including coveralls and shorts.

I was walking through the parking lot to go home after work. I saw my buddy had his hatchback open & there was a pair of work gloves sitting there. I arranged them into a double salute & went to my truck.

I looked in my lunch bag & my keys were gone! I figured they must have fallen out on my way back from the lunchroom.

I walked all the way back up there checking all over again on the way. Nothing. I asked a few guys that were leaving .Nothing. Back up to the lunchroom. Nothing. Went back to my bench. Zip!

I went back to look around the truck & buddy said.. " Hey look! some dummy left me a message & forgot his Keys!"

MUCH to my surprise, the Sawzall barely scratched it!
So I went back to the drill, and about 3 minutes more of drilling, it let go.

Will now use the spare key to ride the scooter over to the locksmith, and get another scooter key made.
