I recently acquired an early fairbanks and cole. It's not worth a ton, but I really loved the rosewood pot, so decided it would be a fun project. I received it yesterday. Sad to say the previous owner or someone along the line decided to "get her playing" and reamed the 5th peg hole for a giant modern tuner, which didnt fit properly. So I will be filling that hole and redrilling for an old fashioned tuning peg. They also put in 2 huge MOP or abalone inlays on the peghead and 3rd fret. I will be filling in some of the edges along the inlay that they didnt do.

One thing I am unsure of is if the tension hoop and top ring is original? The hooks are modern replacements and so I am in the market for an early set of fairbanks and cole hooks. Also, seems they put in a non original tailpiece screw, which is about 1/4" too long. Did Fairbanks & Cole and Cubley use the same hardware (circular)? I thought to perhaps make or buy a nut to attach on the ouside of the pot so it screws flush without necessarily trying to find a replacement (as that seems like it may prove difficult)

any leads on parts or advise would be much appreciated. thanks
