Good dark and early morning (actually it's still evening, but I don't know how much longer I can stay awake) from cool Kingston, Ontario. It's 15C now and will hit 20C but we may have showers later. This weekend we were on two studio tours, Sunday's was the North Frontenac Backroads Studio Tour, on rolling roads way north of Highway 7. There were some good artists, plus the artisan cheese makers, the alpaca farm, deer and wild turkeys, and a changing sky. Here is the Presbyterian church in Snow Road, and a sky view not far from home, coming back after dinner in Westport. Shelby, a.k.a. Schlubby, the cat was relieved to have us back home to feed and care for her.

Have a great day!

+4C by sunrise aka when it gets light out, and probably more rain.
Threats of snow several nights this week, hope not.
Squandering money again tomorrow, that never changes. Happy Monday!

A warm-ish late September day here in the foothills of the northern Rockies. Have a swell day, everyone.

Rained most of the night, +8C and the clouds have moved off. Beautiful sunny, all washed off and clean sort of a day. We nearly had a drought here this summer so these gentle soaker rains for hour after hour are a big help going into winter.
Yes, your order is on the way. Container trains pounding through the village all night from the Port of Prince Rupert. Schedule is 92 hours from PR to Chicago.

The trains are operated in sections with crew changes. This village has always been railroad, even a round house and turn table back in the days of steam. Crew change here to engines idling all night in winter, maybe a mile(?) out of town. 2 x 4,000 hp in front and usually 2 x 4,000 hp slaves in the middle. It's been all uphill from tide-water!
The double track east of the Rockies into Edmonton is 90mph and smooth as silk.
