Good dark and early morning from damp Kingston, Ontario. We've had two days of fairly steady rain and more is on the way, It's currently 15C and will only hit 18C with a 60% chance of showers. Six years ago on this date a couple sat and busked in Market Square behind City Hall. They'd come from the west coast to visit family. They played fiddle tunes. He played a Will Fielding banjo.

Have a great day!

I've been there once, to market square in Kingston! It's a really nice area, and the cafes had some delicious deserts when I traveled there a few years ago.

Nice and cool today in SE PA, temps in the 60s F, and not humid at all. Plenty of sunshine. I can see fall approaching!

I'm eating lunch with my friend who has survived cancer.
I'm playing down by the new River every morning this week at sunrise. I made 3 new friends with a banjo.

Last night's open stage was spectacular, people are "upping" themselves, meaning trying something , stretching the limit,
pressing on the screen. Clear blue sky today. We can see 60 miles.

Good Morning from clear and cool Northeast Wisconsin. Completely clear blue skies. I have a few chores to do today to get ready for wood cutting day tomorrow. Daughter and family are coming out to help fill up the winter wood pile. Grandkids and Son-in-law will help and hopefully we will get another cord done.
Have a good day, keep safe.

Market Square is much better since they fixed it up some years ago. But first they had to dig out and research the ruins they found underneath it, then fill them in and then do the job. They put in the freezing system to create a skating rink in winter, plus the garage for the Zamboni and the fountain at the corner of King and Market Streets. They have the farmers market on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday and the antique market on Sunday. A couple of us played in the amphitheatre on a cool windy day.

From the City's Web site: "The Kingston Public Market is the oldest market in Ontario. Since its official founding in 1801, the market has operated as community gathering place and has played an integral role in Kingston and our country’s history.

"An informal market was established on the same site in 1788 that the market now operates on today. As the Kingston population grew in the late 18th century, the market acted as the center of the local economy and community. It was the Kingston Market Square that Lieutenant – Governor Sir John Graves Simcoe chose as the location to proclaim the Constitutional Act which established Upper Canada as a separate jurisdiction on July 8, 1792. In 1801 the Kingston Public Market was granted official status by the city of Kingston. ...

"It was in Kingston Market Square that the proclamation of Confederation and the formation of the Dominion of Canada occurred. " (July 1st, 1867)
