It’s unclear whether you are considering an openback or resonator banjo. That would make a difference to someone commenting (including me). Though both makers produce well-made banjos, I like Omes better. I think they’re more elegant. If you love the Ome, then buy it. It will last a lifetime.

I have an Ome resonator banjo, and in my opinion, it's better than plenty of Prewar's I've played. It looks stunning, sounds better than it looks, and feels great to play! I would definitely go for it if I were you. Good luck!

If you found one that speaks to you, buy it. It does not matter what someone else thinks, especially someone who has not played the particular one you like. Plus, that Oracle may sound different than other Oracles. I have made the mistake of having a number of choices in front of me and picking the one that was the "best deal," rather than the one that rattled my bones and raised my heart rate.

Regardless of open back or resonator if I've got the money I'm buying the Ome every time.

I've owned four Omes over my lifetime: two plectrums and two five-strings. (Still own two of them.) They are wonderful banjos in every respect and exemplify the term "world class." Get that Ome. You'll never regret it.

Go over your budget and get the Ome. In my opinion their quality is unsurpassed.

I have a precursor to the Ome which is the Ode. made by the same person. I will have that banjo forever. Great tone, great neck width, awesome all around banjo.

I have an OME and two Deerings. I like them all for what they are and what they do. But if you love the OME, get it. The heart wants what the heart wants.
