It's a fairly good Asian-made "intermediate player's" banjo. Better than a beginner's model. $500 might be fair, but lower if you want to sell it faster. As long as nothing on it is busted/repaired. The hardshell case is an added attraction that will help the sale.

By "acoustic," I presume you mean open-back. Before deciding what to do, maybe consider removing the resonator (easy) and the flange (it takes a while) and voila! -- a fine open-back.

To get the flange off, you'd have to remove and then replace all the hook nuts.
