Just picked up a 01 WL#7, SN on the dowel stick is 20808, SN on the pot is 20828, 10 3/4" pot, 26" scale.
Just spoke with Jim Bollman and he didnt seem to concerned about the SN mix-up and that there could be a SN on the inside of the streatcher band, no such luck. Just wondering if anyoneknows of the availability of replica carved faux or genuine Ivory tuning peg buttons? I know I saw a picture of faux Ivory Maltese Cross buttons a while ago but can't seem to connect with the pic again. Any Ideas?
Thanks, Dennis B.

Sometimes the serial number (or the last three digits) is also scratched on the inside of the tone ring jacket.

Please post pictures.

Especially of the peghead and those tuners.

I’m sure that many here would love to see the photos.

I think Mark Ralston made up a set of faux ivory Maltese Cross tuners awhile back, but I think they were the full friction tuners, not just buttons. But you might try him, he's a BHO member.

Mighty purty! Especially that reddish layer under the back of the peghead.

Thanks Don, so sorry to hear about Ed Britt, we all lost a good freind.
I think it's time for a journal of banjo facts while we still can.

Probably not genuine ivory buttons. Please take a tuner apart and show us all the parts. I have a fairly good idea but need to see the parts explosion to know for certain.
