I just bought this banjo at an antique store and hope to restore it and make it playable. It looks like it could be a stewart banjo bases
D on the peg head but there are no labels or brands. Does anyone recognize it?

Post the pictures directly to the forum page. They come out bigger and you will get more opinions from the banjo braintrust. Maybe even a positive ID.

And make sure you take the banjo out if it's case, if it has one, for pictures. cases contribute shadows that hide important details.

One picture is insufficient for I.D.

I can say this, though: if it's a tenor banjo it is NOT a real Stewart.

And to build on what George wrote, if it is not stamped with the Stewart name then it is not a B&J era Stewart branded tenor.
