About 3 years ago, Epiphone was supposed to release a new 6 string banjo. If I remember correctly, it was to be called a "Stagebird". It had a beautiful headstock and was reasonably priced. I waited for several months but the banjo never became available. I finally bought a Gold Tone GT-500 and I have been very happy with it. Does anyone know, whatever happened to the Stagebird? Was it ever released? If not, then why? Just curious as it looked like a winner...

It looks like some were made, but maybe in just smaller numbers. I don't think they made a whole bunch of those recent five string Mayfairs, either.
Here's an expired listing from Reverb
That sounds like it would have been right around the time Gibson was about to declare bankruptcy.
It was probably another Dae Won rebadge and Dae Won stopped making banjos around that time.
