Off beat question here.
Do you all have an opinion on the wound string material and which material seems rougher on your fretting fingers and playing nail?
I am using a bronze wound 4th. It had a nickel wound 4th on it when I bought it and that seemed somewhat smother to me.

If you are looking for a smooth string, you could order this single flat wound string from Just Strings.

I use these strings on my cello banjo, and really like how smooth they are. There is not any of the jet plane taking off sound when moving from one fret to another, which really shows up on the cello banjo.

I've can't discern any difference in feel myself, but the bronze wound strings sound a tad different and better to me.
