Well now all he needs to do is make up a cool story to go along with it!

Glad you’re on the mend Al!

Great Al, I hope it doesn't come back. Stay healthy. You should tell everyone you were struck by a sword in a duel.

I trust all is going, and will continue to go well, Al.

What popped to my mind was the recreation of Terry Sawchuck's stitches:   https://rarehistoricalphotos.com/terry-sawchuk-face-hockey-goalie-masks-became-standard-game-equipment-1966/

and Cheevers' mask: https://vintagesportsitems.com/products/goalie-mask-tony-esposito-chicago-blackhawks

... and bubba.... I think it best that I don't post links to any images re. what your post brought to mind.   However, I'm glad to hear your news is good news, as well.

Yeah, well you see I was taking knife fighting lessons downtown. For the first four weeks we only used rubber knives. Well, this week we started using real knives and well...

Just don't tell the same story twice. Makes it all more interesting.

Hope you heal quickly, and that the cancer doesn't return.

Reminds me of a book REVIEW which I had read, decades ago.

(Never did read the book!)

A collection of short stories, each one about a fellow who hung around in a waterfront bar, and, if you'd buy him a beer, he'd tell you the story of how he lost his leg.

NEVER the same story twice in a row!

Bitten off by a shark- - -  Crushed  when the school bus full of children he was saving rolled over on him- - -  blown off during a dangerous Secret Mission- - -

Don't even remember the name of the book.  just fascinated by the CONCEPT of the book, since Mom and Dad were great story-tellers, and even the TRUEST of stories get "improved" over time.

I had a black eye once when I was in my late 20's.  I had 3 different stories about how I got it, and I let the listener decide which one was true.  Each story was more bizarre than the next.

So now you’ll be Al “Scarface” White, the TNT king. At least not in the tradition of Al “Scarface” Capone, the Chicago tax evader. …Hope your rcovery continues apace. Take care.
