He is a fantastic player. I remember being at Merlefest once for a " Banjo Extravaganza" or something of the sort. You could see the other banjo players smiling and shaking their heads in amazment when he played. That banjo is a power house! Thanks for posting.

I think Jens Kruger is the greatest five string picker alive today. Here he and his brother Ewe are putting their original, incredible take on an old bluegrass standard. Jack, I really think you should tab this one out!

I think there is a Duellin' Banjos tab in Banjo Newsletter from 2006. It contains some of the stuff in the video, but is not as detailed as a tab by Jack Baker.

Jan,
This is not a song I ever wanted to fool with...Jack   p.s. the first 5 notes of a major scale isn't enough for me I guess...p.s. Of course they play it with fun and brilliance as always....

My G@#-Don He is top dog ,all our efforts are now somewhere below mediocre--At least I think the prucha he was selling was too ringy for me-- but yes i quit putting binding on mine years ago for ease of refretting

I think he's using more than the first five notes of the scale.

Well don of course he's using more than the first five notes of the scale. That was meant as a joke but consider the true melody that reno and smith started with...don't get too serious about this silly little tune....yer old friend... jb

That's sure the truth. Way too complicated to tab, I guess.

Yeah, they horse around with this song and so tabbing it would be impossible. But I have tabbed the closer version a dozen times and posted it here Don...Jack  p.s. Jens does put all kinds of tasty licks in there though...I particularly like his tone--really solid...
