I cannot figure out what the faded name on this peghead says. Any help appreciated.

Howard was a trademark of the Wurlitzer company of Cincinnati. It was their student/entry level line. All Howard instruments I have seen were manufactured by contractors such as Stromberg-Voisinet and Kay.

Show us the pot and we’ll know if an SV or Kay. Same company but different owners. Banjo construction changed in the early 1930s.
