I'm trying to build a banjo and have managed to source most parts I need (mostly it seems from eBay). One thing that appears to be particularly hard to find is a tension hoop of the right size. I have an 11" Remo head I want to use and want nickel/silver coloured hoop.

Where can I source a tension hoop for an 11" Remo head?

I guess need a hoop with an 11" inner dia. and an outer dia. something like 5/12" larger so the outer edge of the hoop is flush with the outer lip of the head rim.

The hoop I have managed to buy claims 283mm inner/291mm outer dia. (Yes, mixed units making it a bit harder). Holding the bits together (not on my rim) they feel sort of looser than I expect with the hoop's outer edge over hanging the head's outer edge. Is this to be expected? Seems wrong to me.

More generally, where is a good place to go for banjo parts in the UK, other than eBay?

Thanks.
