The classic Ian Tyson song that he wrote in the early 1960’s sitting in New York City, 2600 miles from Alberta and 2900 miles from the girl in British Columbia that he wrote it about. It’s been called the unofficial anthem of Alberta. Ian’s ranch is about 45 miles southwest of Calgary.

I've told everyone I've ever met from Alberta that I hear the weather's good there in the fall, and have been met with stony silence each time. :)
