Somebody asked me when the first photograph of a banjo player was taken.
Not super important, but this is THE place where IF somebody knows, would be most likely to be a visitor.
My guess the banjo player would likely be Joel Sweeney.

I don't think banjo players actually had many DATEs?
Was it even called a Banjo back in the day? Is a gord banjo in the running or does it have to be an open back, etc.? Can it be a cave drawing?

Isn't there a hieroglyphic drawing in Egypt that shows someone playing a banjo-like instrument?
Do a Google search similar to this: Banjo Daguerrotype. I found some from the 1850s.
