Good dark and early morning from Kingston, Ontario. It's 20C, rising to 24C with a few showers - in fact one is starting right now. Yesterday we went to Prince Edward County, to Wellington and Bloomfield, and returned by way of the Glenora ferry. After crossing to the Adolphustown side, we stopped for a few photos, looking back at the Glenora side (where the road leads to Picton), and the ferry about to cross back.

Have a great day!

Good day from NE Ohio. Nice pics, Paul. They remind me of the ferry bout and the sound around Port Angeles in Washington.

Good morning from McHenry County, IL.

The weather is good, and it's the middle of a three day weekend for those who are not retired.

Gas is up to about $3.50 a gallon for the cheap stuff, and I'm driving the 94 miles home in the car.

Estimated gas cost, $10.
Last trip down here and back  was on the 165 MPG motor scooter, at 35 miles an hour.

Took most of the day.

Have a nice one.

Good morning! It looks like we're in for a nice sunny day! We're chocked in with fog until it burns off now.

I miss those free ferries. I liked how they were considered an extension of the road & paid for by our taxes.

Here in B.C. (stands for Bring. Cash.) they are privatized so they charge large.

Yup. The Glenora ferries (they run two) connect the parts of route 33, the Loyalist Parkway (thus the old Union flag that did not yet add the Cross of St. Patrick, on the flagpole in the first photo). The new ferries  for Wolfe Island and Amherst Island have been built and will be carried across the Atlantic on a large ship. Work is still gong on to alter the docks to accommodate the new ferries. Part of Kingston harbour is being dredged for the new ferry. I think they'll run two Wolfe Island ferries when the new one goes into service, maybe just one in the off-season. This part of the country could be called "Ferry Central" - with the two Glenora ferries, the Amherst Island ferry, the Wolfe Island ferry, the Howe Island cable ferry, plus the small cable ferries at Simcoe Island (on Wolfe Island) and at the east end of Howe Island. The Howe and Amherst Island boats aren't considered part of the highway system, so there's a fee. (Photo: One Glenora ferry from amother.)
