Matt Brown here from twofingerbanjo.com. This month, I'm going to be offering a one hour online workshop in which I will teach two-finger thumb lead versions of "Cripple Creek" in gDGBD and then in gCGCD. The workshop will take place on Saturday, September 25 at 4pm Eastern (8pm GMT) on Zoom.
If you have experience in those two tunings, and know how to slide, pull-off, and hammer-on, this workshop is for you! Tab will be provided ahead of time, and I will generate videos within the Zoom of me teaching each tune as well as separate videos of me playing each arrangement straight through at several speeds. Those video recordings will be shared with each participant after the workshop concludes, so feel free to sign up even if you aren't able to log on at the appointed time. Let me know if you have any questions! Enrollment is here.
If you are new to two-finger banjo and are curious to dip your...fingers in, check out my free beginner lessons here. The two arrangements I'll teach in this workshop are intermediate, but folks more comfortable with beginner material are welcome to tune in and be a fly on the wall.
Hey, friends. Matt Brown is actually teaching at the Louisville Folk School for the Aug-Sept session to some pretty full classes (advanced fiddle and old-time ensemble). I teach next door to him, and there's some pretty nice music coming from that side of the hall. I highly recommend him as a teacher.
