I thought it might be neat to create a tribute thread to Bill Emerson's tunes with videos of people playing some of his tunes.  He's sure got a lot of material out there to choose from.

I did meet Bill once on a tour through Pennsylvania with Chris Jones.  We talked for an afternoon, and he was a really decent guy.  I felt honored to be picking banjo in the same festival as he was.  

 

This is my tribute, Home of the Red Fox.

I’m no picker, but I tried to learn
Cowboys when I had a Huber and called it Huber’s and Indians on my home page
but I have no idea how to link it here

Bills rhythmic approach was an attraction for me. He played with a lot of energy and heavy rhythm.

I sat down and worked this out today. Such a great banjo player with so many little tricks that kept it fresh and still Scruggsy!
