I received a set of standard Dean Hoffmeyer picks in the mail a couple of days ago. I tried them out and am extremely pleased with them! Smooth, comfortable, really like the way the blade is formed and LOVE the tone.

I know almost every one of us has favorite picks. In searching for the "perfect" finger picks over the years, I've tried nearly every pick out there, except the old Nationals. Of course, there is no absolute "perfect" pick, but it never hurts to keep looking to find what works best for you.

So far, I can say with confidence that Hoffmeyer standard picks have become my new favorite. Of course, YMMV, but I like them. :)

Just curious. What made you decide on the Standard, instead of the custom ?

I'm looking at a pair now. Still undecided.

Leslie R , I chose the standard pick because I have small fingers. I figured the other picks' bands would be too wide for my fingers. The standard size turned out to be perfect for me.

Try fake fingernails from a nail salon, for about $8.00 for 3 fingers and they last 3-4 months. If you don't like it, then they file off in a few minutes. It changed my whole world. I hated the metal picks and used the white plastic picks for years, then switched to my own fingernails (they break at the wrong time) then fake fingernails.

The only issue, I race motorcycles and if you break one these nails it is a medical disaster, so you have to be careful with manley tasks.

Placed my order for the picks yesterday. I'm not much into fake fingernails.

I've been using Hoffmeyer picks now for just over a year, and couldn't be more pleased. Love the tone and the fit of these picks.

I love mine, however, I want to try the ones he makes for Sonny Osborn with the flat blades!
