Today Mom died at age 94 of COPD. She gave me her love of music and always encouraged me through band and orchestra and later in my pursuit of Bluegrass. She secretly bought my first cornet because my Dad would never have spent the money. She taught me hymns to play by ear and was always my biggest fan. She attended my performances and was always ready to compliment or offer constructive comments.
In 2007, she was awarded The Order of the Long Leaf Pine, NC's highest civilian honor, for her volunteer work in tge community. She loved people and loved helping. We were so blessed. She was a woman of immense talent in crafting and was a HS teacher in Ohio and a real estate broker in Florida before she retired to NC. She helped raise our kids and took care of her mother who died in 1989. An avid reader, she also gave us her love of books and lifelong learning. She always had time to talk with me and truly cared about my many interests in life.
I know she now is communing with the Saints and I look forward to our great reunion.
We miss you, Mama...

My sincere condolences, Bob. My Mom passed in 1994,, it’s never easy.
My heartfelt condolences, Bob. A life well lived but that doesn’t ease the pain of parting. My mum passed on in 2010. Gradually it helped ease the pain to realise she would want me to continue enjoying the life and gifts she worked to give me, as your mom did for you. It takes time.

Sounds like a long, good, life. You were blessed.
It sounds like you have a lot of amazing memories of her and that she had a huge impact on not only you but all those around her. I hope your family grows closer through this and can be there for each other to share the happiness of her memory.
Sorry, Bob. She just stepped around the corner.
Regardless of age, it's always toughest to suddenly become an orphan. Take peace in knowing that you'll see her again some day.
My Mom was stolen away in 2012. She too was an angel.
I am glad she had a long wonderful life. My condolences to your loss.
She sounds somewhat like my mother, who is 94, survived her bout with COVID in a care home, and now remains in hospice care due to her bad heart and extreme dementia. She was ready to move on, not sure what Gods plan has been for her these last several months, but we keep praying. Brad

Very sorry to hear that Bob. Sounds like she lived a good and full life, and will be missed by many.
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I can empathize, I lost my mother at 94 and it was a crushing blow to me. I had been her caretaker for over 4 years. Just know that your mother is now in a better place and you'll see her again someday.
