Oh I hope that happens, Al. I followed John on Twitter and became a big fan. I have no idea if he was "suicided" or went out with his own private joke. I could believe either way. But I do love the rumors of his "deadman switch"!

Dead man switches sure make for good movie plots. Is that life imitating art or is it art imitating life?

Andrew---dropping a little Third Reich shade here--- have you actually read anything by him? Or just what has been written about him?

A recent tweet

"In a democracy, power is given not taken.

But it is still power.

Love, compassion, caring have no use for it. But it is fuel for greed, hostility, jealousy...

All power corrupts.

Take care which powers you allow a democracy to wield.--"

You're right. But from sources across the board. I'll read up and see if there's more than somebody who made a fortune from software by being at the right place at the right time and was able to indulge his fantasies. Of course he was a libertarian (very easy to be if you can afford a comfortable liberty). So it's unlikely that his writings will turn me into a fan.

Gioachimo Rossini's most often heard work.

And a song with only two words of lyric!

"Hi-Yo, Silver!"

As I was doing my due diligence because of the word "away" which as a adolescence in our mimic of the Hi-Yo silver I came across an extended or a version of the Lone Ranger Theme Song. A couple other factoids There was a law suit by a Buck Jones fellow who thought Hi-Ho Silver was his catch phrase so to speak look that up it's kind of informative of the LONE RANGER saga and another thing I always thought.. Silver was a Stallion...watch the trailer as Silver Rises up.

As was noted some time ago:

In the TV pilot, LR & Tonto go to The Valley of the Wild Horses, where they meet Silver.

Oddly enough, some wandering farrier of an extremely charitable disposition had  apparently gone there, and applied iron shoes to several of the wild horses.

Look at his hooves:

Also, any hunters out there who believe that a single round from a .45 would do anything more than inconvenience a buffalo??

Mike, in the center of the skull they would drop from a 22, just like a big steer. Placement is everything and a .45 pistol up close is equal to a "buffalo rifle" from afar.

I seem to have hijacked a thread.
Sorry.
Anyway, the TV show has Lone and Tonto off to the SIDE, and the buffalo is facing the downed horse.
