Hi everyone,

I am looking for Tonopah Waltz tab as it's played in The little Birds performance. Could you help me?
Thank you very much! :-)

Though it may not sound like it, Sharon Martinson, formerly of the Littlest Birds, plays this clawhammer style.

Here's a link to the tune from the CD: (531) Tonopah Waltz - YouTube

Here's link to a video of Sharon Martinson playing the tune: (531) Tonopah Waltz, Old time Banjo, Sharon Martinson - YouTube

Nice tune. I'll probably try to tab it out.

Nice tune! Sounds like one I'd enjoy playing, so I'll wait for dbrooks' tab.

Here is my take on this beautiful waltz written by Sharon Martinson, formerly of the Littlest Birds.

This tab is based on Sharon Martinson's video - (531) Tonopah Waltz, Old time Banjo, Sharon Martinson - YouTube. The key is C, but she uses sawmill tuning (gDGCD) for the tune, as she mentions in the introduction. Sharon uses quite a few downstrokes where the finger strikes first one string then the next. I have used mostly open-string pull-offs (ASPO) for these situations. She also uses syncopation often with a "ghost" downstroke followed by the thumb striking a string on the second half of the beat. I tried to capture some, but not all, of these. This tab represents what I hear in the tune and how I might choose to play it.
