It should have said "land of rapeSEED and honey", then people probably wouldn't have complained.

I simply MADE UP the town names of Slippsen Falls and Sonova Beach.

Somebody else made up Afrayda Heights
And the Saturday Evening Post had a fictional story about a town called Kidneystone Pass.

I heard a story (unconfirmed) that there is a town named Big Twin Flats, which could not have a beauty contest, because nobody wanted to be known as Miss Big Twin Flats.

A town called "Shoot and Cut" would be a perfect place to have a film editing industry.

Along those ^^ lines, although NOT a town name, Anita Bathe   https://www.cbc.ca/mediacentre/bio/anita-bathe has a certain ring (?) to it.

There will probably not be a movie made about the Uncertain 5.

I hope to see one: "Lytton", BC. I'd prefer "Kumsheen" which is a FN word meaning the junction of two rivers. The place where the Thompson River joins the Fraser River.

This is my favourite one, about a 3 hour drive from my place, is Nowhere Creek. As the name suggests.... it's in the middle of nowhere. Population 19!

There is a place called "Knockemstiff" and also a great book of short stories about the place by a man that was born there, Donald Ray Pollock.

Somewhere in Mom's dresser drawer is a photo of myself and my brother and three sisters, standing next to a sign which points at us, and also points the way, and tells the distance, to a nearby town.
Sign says
PECULIAR 5 --->

And for those of you who wonder "WHERE'S WALDO??"

I-43, exit 120,

About 50 miles north of Milwaukee, Wisconsin

In my neck of the woods, if you're coming from the North, you have to go through Sugar Tit and Beaver Lick to get to Big Bone.

We used to ride our bicycles through Lowville Heights by the Niagara Escarpment west of Toronto. The name is an oxymoron.

And your brother lives in "Tumball Downs".

And Rocky and Bullwinkle needed to climb "Wynchataka Peak".

It was indeed a pleasure..... we had a week in 2008 .... decided to stay on the Avalon Peninsula, and still didn't have enough time. Here's a promotional website https://www.newfoundlandlabrador.com/trip-ideas/travel-stories/theres-no-place-like-dildo      ....and a few pics: me, my wife and Capt. Dildo and one from up around the bend [building with the Dildo sign is in the upper center.]
