Hats off to and Best Father’s Day Ever to Jon Rahm!!! Quite an exciting game changing tourney!!! He was taken out of play a few weeks ago because of COVID and never blamed anyone and accepted the decision, and today he stood with his family and accepted the Trophy!!! Good on him !!!

That is a very difficult golf course ...... set up the way US Opens should be. I played that golf course not too many years ago and for the average golfer the rough makes it hard to get the ball to the green. One of my friends brother, who was a low single digit handicap golfer won a Golf Digest contest before the last open there and got to play the course as it was set up for the open. If he broke 100, it certainly was not by much.

When you play the 18th hole withoput all of the stands a people around it, you would barely recognize it. It looks lie a green just sitting out in the open with a dinky little pond right in front of it.

We watched a lot of it. The tournament was a fun one to watch. Basically coming down to the last hole. And my wife won her bet at her office. She bet on Rahm. :-)

Thrilling win and a deserving winner. Two world-class putts from Rahm on 17 and 18. I was pulling for him after the debacle at Memorial, and it was good to see how much he has matured: All those missed birdie putts and he never lost his composure. It was a US Open that played out like it ought to, although watching DeChambeau’s back 9 was painful.

Congratulations for sure. Too bad many of the others in the hunt, started making so many bad shots late. But It made for an interesting day of golf watching for dads day. The NBC announcing sucked, IMHO. Brad

Yes .... not nearly as good as CBS with Jim Nance ..... although I am not a big Faldo fan.  A friend of mine rented Faldo his house in Augusta for two consecutive years and the third year told him he was not welcome back.  He was not very kind to the people who were cleaning up and servicing the house.  Several years ago I had dinner with Fanny Sunneson, who was Faldo's caddie for his wins at the Masters.  She was extremely interesting and quite frankly more insightful about golf courses than most of the pros I have known.  I was quite impressed.

It was excruciating watching DeChambeau on the back nine.  He must have lost all concentration and was just trying to finish.

A story I heard from a now-former Golf Channel presenter: Faldo shows up at a tony private club for a demo. As he heads to the range to prepare, the head pro asks him, "Can I get you anything, Mr. Faldo?" "Diet Coke, thanks." A few minutes later the pro drives out to the range with a big cup of Diet Coke. Faldo looks at it, dumps out the contents on the grass, hands him back the cup saying, "No ice", and goes back to hitting balls.

LOL .... sounds like him!

One of my golf course contractor friends was hosting him at the Sand Hills Golf Club is the middle of nowhere, Nebraska (great place incidentially) and Nick was playing with the vice president of the company who was a former college player and hit the ball a mile.  He was outdriving Faldo by about 20 yards per hole, and every time they drove their golf cart to a ball, Nick would go up to the furtherest ball.  My friend would yell to him .... "Hey Nick, back here", this is your ball".  Needless to say, Nick did not like it.

Great win for Rahm, but I feel devastated for Oosthuizen. His sixth 2nd place finish in a major. indecision He's better than what the record books will eventually show. Best swing on tour (imo), leading the putting stats, super nice to fans and all the other players seem to love him.

His coach said that if he could only motivate him a tiny bit more, he would win everything. Guess his passion for tractors is too high.
