My brother noticed this article:

Brother's comment:
Alex Harvill was a professional doing what he loved to do and would certainly have tried with the best equipment and planning possible. He had set records before and what he proposed wasn't absolutely impossible. Meaningless but not impossible.

Sister's comment:

Still, a pretty stupid goal, in my opinion. His two kids now grow up w/o a father, his wife a widow?  And for what?  So he could brag his jump broke the record?  Who cares?
so, MY question:
Well, he died trying to make a world's record, which MIGHT have resulted in a bit better life for his family, had he lived.
Wonder if any kind of insurance policy pays out on
"Death-By- Failed -Stunt."

He didn’t even get to the stunt itself. The accident, as described, is pretty much a textbook example of a common motorcycle-jump failure.

Mike, I suspect that you can get insurance on anything, if you're willing to pay the premiums.

I suspect the same, but wonder if anyone among the 123 THOUSAND and more OutHangers are IN the biz, and can give me some info as to what their company charges, and how much they pay out.
