FOUND! This site continues to amaze me, nine years in!

Thanks BHO!

Hi All! I'm looking for a copy of the spiral bound tab book that could be ordered from Kicking Mule Records that went with the "Melodic Clawhammer" record, KM 209. If you have one sitting at the back of your bookshelf and want to sell it, look no further. Thanks!

I did a bit of research and found this site that has some contact information for Kicking Mule Records. You might try contacting some of them.

I also found this book on Amazon but you better be eager to get it. I could buy most of a nice clawhammer banjo for the price they want for this book.   $619.73 seems a bit much to me.

You might also check out the link below. Apparently he was involved with KM back in the day.

Thanks Glen! I wrote the person on amazon yesterday when it was only $494.99. That's not a serious seller. People do that on heavebay too because if they fall below a certain percentage ratio between sales and onhand inventory they can be kicked off of the platform as a seller. Someone will have a copy out there for $10 or less. Again, thanks for reaching out!

I have one, and the album from way back when. Only one problem, I have no idea as to where it is.

Actually I know it’s either in the garage or the basement. I’m having work done in both places, so when I get a moment sometime this week, I’ll head out and look and see if I can get to the boxes behind the contractors stuff.

It’s a good album. The tabs in that book are straight up easy to figure out. Have not used tabs since I was a teen, but that record and book was a huge help. I actually took lessons from Hank Sapoznik who is on that album in Brooklyn back in the 70’s. Good teacher.

if I can dig it up, I'll let you have it for very reasonable. Like trade me something or make me an offer, or at least cover shipping.

It was fun to see the book and the album again.

Thanks Alvin! I'll take you up on that. We can figure something out. Let me know, and I appreciate it!

I cannot believe that I actually found it.

Has to be over 40 years since I even looked at it. But here it is. All pages. Just a little worn from age and moving a few dozen times.

Throw me an offer. I’ll take it. Book is not doing me any good and I pulled all the songs out of it before I turned 18.

Glad I could help on this one.

Whatever you think is a fair price Alvin. I really appreciate you digging that up! I've been relying on records and old tab books to learn for a few reasons. That's pretty great that you were around Brookly then and had lessons from Sapoznik!
