I just got my 2nd shot (on Earth Day)

Nothing better than lowering the odds of an early death by going out of your way to get vaccinations.

Got my 2nd shot Wednesday. No problems except for a sore arm. And I didn't have to go in to the pharmacy dressed like the picture. Just wore a little mask. After I got the shot, I stayed there and shopped for about 20 minutes just to be sure I had no reaction to the shot. I felt fine, and still do.

I love to see the numbers of folks who've gotten vaccinated going up.

I got both of mine. First in February, and the second in early March. Got 'em as soon as I was eligible. No side effects other than a sore arm.

Kinda ticks me off that as a conservative, many of those on the other side of the political spectrum paint ALL conservatives as "Anti Vaxers" - "Tin Foil Hat Conspiracy Theorists" along with being "Anti Science Dim Wits." They figure all conservatives are avoiding getting the shot for one of those reasons....and the POTUS press agent said so in a press meeting.

Anyway, after the first one, I was sitting in the area for the 15 minute monitoring after the shot. They gave me an info sheet. On this sheet it listed the vaccine ingredients. A couple of those ingredients, I gotta say, raised an eyebrow!

Ethylene Glycol....anti-freeze!
Potassium Chloride....the stuff they use for lethal injections.

No dead COVID cells like in conventional flu shots.

Just thought that was interesting. I was NOT wearing my tin foil hat there either!

Let's be careful and not get into a political discussion as it's against the rules.

Did you get this info before or after your first shot?

The ingredients that raised an eyebrow are already in many of the things you probably eat or drink every day.
PEG is in things like laxatives and toothpaste and Potassium Chloride is used as a flavor enhancer and a salt replacement to lower the sodium content of foods.

Got my second shot on Weds, Pfizer.

Yesterday morning I summoned the strength to drive my mother in law to the airport, but by afternoon my headache was bad enough that I couldn't focus on much besides this website.
I feel fine today and I'm buoyed by the fact that my odds of surviving have gone way up.

I think the place I got mine done was only doing second doses that day. Everyone there was so happy and vocally grateful and upbeat. I wished I could hang out there all day.

To be honest, it doesn't take me much to summon up the strength to drive my mother in law anywhere in the opposite direction from my home.  Fever or no fever.

After eating the cake. The baker says oh by the way we also make peanut brittle with the same pots and pans.  While you are swelling up and asking what's going on.

Not certain if that was meant as an insult or if it just plain sarcasm.

Hmmm, I'm pretty sure that focussing on this website is where most of my headaches come from. cheeky

The 28th will be 14 days after the 2nd Pfiser shot for us. THEN I will start to feel as protected as possible. I believe, however, that there will be yearly (or more often) boosters required just like the Influenza shots. Not a problem for me, I've been getting vaccines since the 40's.

No insult... Sarcasm maybe a little.. mocking.... oh yeah...the way they let you know what's in the stuff. 'Oh by the way'...doesn't fly very well in my books. And I love those commercial that say. If you are allergic to any ingredients don't take xyz. Well how in the heck do you know what's in xyz?

Somebody on another thread asked what's in the vaccine. Took about 2 minutes on Google to find a full ingredients list for all the major vaccines. All of them were stanard stabilisers, mould and bacteria preventers, antioxidents etc. that are present in other foods and medicines plus the magic bit which provokes Covid antibody production. No microchips, cyanide, asbestos, baby blood or anything else that I wouldn't, and don't, happily ingest in the tiny amounts found in a dose of vaccine. I wouldn't want to drink a gallon of it. But that also applies to coca-cola, vodka, vinegar....

There was an athlete here in my town that thought as you do and went about his life as usual.  He was young, healthy, physically fit, no medical problems.   He just spent 32 days in the hospital, 18 of them on a ventilator.  He came close to dying several times.  He was finally released from the hosptal yesterday to go home and recuperate.  He will have to have PT to get  his body where it works again.  He lost so much weight that his muscles have atrophied.  He's just glad he's alive and so are his parents.

If you're interested, here's the URL to the story:  https://www.cbs7.com/2021/04/22/odessa-triathlete-leaves-mch-covid-free-after-difficult-battle-with-the-virus/  .... just in case you don't believe what I just wrote, there it is from our news station.

come one Sherry are you just giving me a version from the media or did you know him and his medical history. its a very smart virus making some people really ill and others dont even have symptoms.
The report dont tell if he had a vaccine but it sounds like he was poisoned by a vaccine

There have been several TV interviews with his mother and I believe what she says about her son.  Our media, unlike a lot of them, tends to verify data before putting it out for the public to view/hear.

Frankly, you don't have to believe it's true.  That's your right.  I know it's true and this young man has been fighting for his life for some time and has hopefully won the battle.

My lovely bride got her second shot on Thursday. Spent most of yesterday sleeping with nausea, a pretty bad headache and slight fever and chills. This morning she got up early to go horseback riding. I'd say one day of discomfort for increased immunity is a decent trade-off. Especially for her because she is in a high risk group.

Edit to add: Thought I'd toss this into the mix. https://arstechnica.com/science/2021/04/99-992-of-fully-vaccinated-people-have-dodged-covid-cdc-data-shows/

Fig, I've read or seen on TV (not sure which) that sometimes a person gets sick on that second shot because the body is doing what it's supposed to do: using its medicine to fight off any invasive virus strain associated with it or that it can help contain.

All I got out of my second shot was a sore arm and maybe a little tired that same day (and maybe I was tired because I'd done too much, who knows).
