I’m posting a link to a local estate tag sale. They have pictured a Kel Kroydon tenor as one of the items. Thought someone might be interested. I won’t be purchasing it, I’m sure it’s out of my price range.

A KK-10!! With hard case. Nice if the price doesn't go too high.

I don’t know the price. The sale doesn’t start until tomorrow at noon. Thought I’d run by their after work. They usually price their items fairly high then discount the items as the days progress. With an item like this they may not include it in discounts though.

What would be considered a good price for it?

You might get lucky and they don't know what they have. I looked through the pictures and saw a Seth Thomas Crystal Regulator that they are trying to pass off as a French clock...

My bet is it sells as soon as the doors open!

They do seem to know what they have. There's a caption on the photo saying it's a 1930's Kel Kroyden, made by Gibson, and that they're taking bids on it, starting at $1500.

My guess is it will sell pretty quick too especially if the price isn’t out of line. So far I’m not scheduled to work so I might be able to check it out when they open. I’m really not interested in it nor can I financial think of buying and keeping it.
I might buy to resell if the price is reasonable. Not sure what that reasonable price would be at this moment.

Dan, didn’t see that on the listing. At that price I’m probably out of the running to bid on it. It’s a married couple who runs this business. The husband seems to be pretty well versed on musical instruments. I’ve bought a couple of less expensive instruments from him, Harmony guitar and regal ukulele. He sold both of them to me at what I considered reasonable prices.

I didn't see that.  That is not usually done at tag sales, but no reason they couldn't do it.

John, sorry I just saw your message tonight at around 8pm. I did go by there today and they were busy. No real bargains today, I did buy a super takumar 105mm f2.8 camera lens that was competitively priced. I’ll probably go by on Friday. They usually take 20 or 30% off by then. If it’s still there I’ll pick it up for you.

Thanks Mark!  I did see that they had a good bit of nice camera equipment.

In case anyone here bought this banjo, I have a (specifically!) Frank Neat KK-10 conversion neck for sale. Mahogany, speed neck, black, even says "KK-10" in the block. Thanks.
