Just picked up a box of old fingerpicks. In it were Oahu's, Oahu Professionals and some Nationals.
I used to go to the Dean Hoffmeyer site to ID things when it came to strange or older fingerpicks. That seems to be gone. Any idea if it relocated?
In the box were also a number of the picks photographed below. One just has a large “N” on it, never seen one like it before. Is it a National?
Also in the box, but separate in a bag, were picks marked National. No Patent or country origin. Also don’t recall these. Are they vintage? Old? New? Made in China?
The pick with the N appears to be a Nic's Pick made for Ross Nickerson by Bob Perry. It's a newer pick.
Can't help with the " Nationals" with any certainty. I bet others can though!
The Wayback Machine snapshot for deanhoffmeyer.com shows those as recent National stainless steel.
David,Tim - Thanks.
They were in with a bunch of old picks of various sorts. I’ve never seen the likes of either of them, so I assumed them to be old like the rest. Interesting to know they are somewhat new.
Shame about the Hoffmeyer site. That was a good resource.
