I own a 1950's vintage Beltone tenor banjo (attached). About 1 1/2 years ago I posted a request for the builder identification. OldFrets (Noah Miller) responded and said my Beltone was built by The United Guitar Corporation of Jersey City, N.J. probably in the 1950's  Here is the original thread:  https://www.banjohangout.org/archive/357858 Wow, that was a new U.S. banjo maker entity for me.  I did some research and learned how United sputtered up from the ghost of Oscar Schmidt but then hit the wall with my research.  This thread is to alert you to an outstanding article in the upcoming May 2021 issue of Vintage Guitar magazine entitled "United They Stood..." written by Peter Stuart Kohman.  The article focus is United made guitars (of course, it's Vintage Guitar magazine) but really provides lots of historical and company information for ca 1950's Beltone fretted instruments.  Terrific article most recommended.
